Hi everyone, did any of you miss me?? Apologies, I've been extremely busy receintly with work, school, settling my overseas matters and preparing stuff for my USA trip, hence not time to really come and update the blog.
Well, now I'm on the ground of a foreign country, Oklahoma City - USA. After traving on the air for like about one and a half days, finally I landed my feet on this beautiful and quiet country on Saturday around 7.55pm (USA time), which is Singapore Sunday 8.55am.
I will blog from the day I fly off from Changi Airport Terminal 2.
18 Apr 2008 - Friday
Went to school early in the morning to collect my taxi voucher (in case I have not enough) but waited for Lourdes for like almost more than half an hour to just get that stupid sheet of voucher. Shortly, I went over to the bank to settle all my stuffs and make sure I have got enough money to spend back at USA.
Reached back home around 3pm and start packing up my luggage and check if everything have been tug in to my luggage and not miss anything. Finally I finished packing my bag at around minutes before 5pm, and I went to have my last meal at home before I headed to Airport, with the courtesy of Meiting, Weixiang and Karen coming over to fetch me and my dad to the airport. Thanks guys~
Before I reached airport, I've got a call from Sean saying they were at belt 7 and 8. Shortly after, Boon Song called me asking where I was as I was holding Tracy's air ticket.
Reaching the airport, the rest have been queuing and I need to wait for my partner Tracy to check-in together. We got the shorter queue at Row number 7 while the other guys got row 8. After checking in, which took about 10 minutes, me and my partner Tracy went our seperate ways. I went to Burger King with my friends and dad for a rest and drink, chit chat and all until around 8pm that I finally need to check-in and say bye to my dad and friends.
Board the plane and settled everything before I gave a call to my mum telling her I'm taking off soon.
About slightly before 2 hours, I landed on the ground of Thailand, Bangkok. That was the first location of transit I have. The experience wasn't that bad as it was not a long trip from Singapore to Bangkok.
19 April 2008, SaturdayAfter a 1 hour waiting time, we board the same SIA plane heading to Tokyo, Narita. This time round, it's a 7 hours flight. Well, this 7 hours is not as bad though. The bad thing was the waiting time for us to board the plane from Narita to Houston, we have to wait for 8 hours. Can you imagine 8 hours of waiting with no much things inside the Transit Airport of Narita, it's killing~ la.

After eating our breakfast, we walked around hoping that the time will pass faster, but sadly it didn't. After walking the whole of the transit area, we still have like 5 hours to go before we can board the plane. I took the time to finish some parts of my work while the others tried to rest (didn't choose to rest if not I will get jet lag).

Shortly after we headed to the Ramen should to have some ramen before we board the plane. I've got the spicy ramen, which was not a bit hot at all. I was so disappointed. But anyway, still have to finish it as it's not cheap.

Board the plane and started my 14 hours flying journey.
Took the Continential Airlines to Houston. The seats wasn't that great, and the entertainment on flight is bad. I have only one watched one show on the plane and I watched a total of 3 times. Well, I should say its a good japanese show that I watched since the last one I got. I recommend "Sky Love" if you want to enjoy a japanese show.
I actually sleep a lot of times on the plane, but not well. We were treated like baby, sleep and eat, eat and sleep, sleep and eat again, and the cycle goes on until we landed. Wah, the food like free like that loh. But then Continential Airline chair is super not comfortable and it's cramp, I don't like. I can't turn here and there. Bad!
I can't imagine that I will be taking a 17 hours flight from Newark to Narita when I'm returning, I think I'll die on plane, kill me before I board the plane man.
20 April 2008, Saturday
Finally landed on Houston and got to queue for the immigration stamp. Waited darn long for my turn as my immigration officer is super slow and he really check every single things.
After I clear the immigrant, I walked to the waiting area to wait for my other friend whom's I20 forms have problem. She got detained in the office and we are asked to go down to collect our baggage firsted. After collection, we proceeded to the check-in baggage area to check-in our baggage and go to board the skytrain to Terminal two for the domestic airline by Continential Airlines again to Oklahoma. Before we all get to board the skytrain, we have to get ourself scanned and all before we are allowed to enter. And the security in Houston is super HIGH. Crossing over the scanning machine, we have to take off the shoes and take our DVD camcorders.
Got my first McDonalds at Houston Texas Airport before we headed for the transit. Waited for the plane for 4 hours before we could board the plane to Oklahoma. This is the first time I seen such a small plane. It's only 3 seaters and the plane is so slim la. OMG~ I actually have to walk up the stairs to enter the plane, and I can tell you, the plane is smaller than any of the coach buses we took to KL loh. WAH~~~

Anyway, small is small, we still landed our feet on Oklahoma City Airport. It's a relatively quiet airport I should say as I don't see many people around. Well, actually I don't see many people along the road too.
Exiting the main door of the airport, we headed to the Yellow Cab area which we can board to the Hotel for FREE.
The people there are so nice, so helpful and such a great chap they were. After about 15 minutes ride of taxi, we reached our Recidence Inn. Nice place relatively, although not much of an entertainment but the rooms here are so BEAUTIFUL. We have two TV here, one kitchen with full untensils and two queen size bedrooms for all of us. Cool right? Haha.
21st April 2008, SundayWent to Oklahoma City University (OCU) for an orientation and the campus is not as big as I think. Lecturers there are super helpful and nice and they are so easy to catch up with. Probably that's the attitude of the Americans, easy to talk, and friendly.
After the orientation, we went to WalMart and the Asia Market for our groceries. Bought quite a lot of groceries for the whole week and its going to be a great cooking week I guess.
